No other book in the Bible compares with the wonder of the sacred collection of inspired worship songs known as the Psalms. Considered by many to be the most loved portion of Scripture, the Psalms have been a bedrock of comfort and a tower of strength for believers in every experience of life. This is the first of two volumes in the Holman Old Testament Commentary given to the Psalms, that provides commentary on Psalms chapters 1-75. Some of the key Psalms receive an added in-depth treatment that includes exposition, illustrations, and teaching plans while providing an introductory overview of all 150 Psalms. The latest volume in the Old Testament series will equip teachers and pastors in preparing to teachers and preach the words composed from the shepherd king's heart.

Not as indepth as I had hoped and is a bit more traditional than I would have expected from this writer, but there is enough helpful information that the book still has value. It is especially helpful for illustration material, and sermon outlining.
