I found this reference book to be extremely helpful as a supplement to reading the Bible. The lanuguage is very user friendly and takes a lot of the guessing out of your experience. A wonderful addition to your library and a 'must have' to anyone who wishes to become more enlightened on The Word.

This book is truly a rare find. My wife picked it up one day and, after reading the title, I wondered if the pages would actually reveal much more than what I had already known. Let me say, 'I'm impressed'. I'm on my fifth read through the Bible and will say that this is a great book to get if you're truly interested in gaining a fresh perspective on the Word. You'll gain a deeper insight into the hows and whys of civilizations and the people. ______________________________I also highly recommend Faith and the Family's "That the World May Know" DVD series for added perspective and insight. I have matured much as a Christian in the days since reading the Bible along with this book and watching the DVD series. Allow God to speak to you through these invaluable resources!

This is a great reference book that is written in a clear and user-friendly manner. It offers Scripturally sound answers to fairly common questions. It also offers explanations on the culture of Bible times shedding light on many passages of Scripture. The questions in these book span the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation and the text is enhance by nice color illustrations throughout.

I was disappointed with the illustrations in this book. The majority of the illustrations have a Roman Catholic flavor - with "The Virgin Mary" with a halo, a naked baby Jesus, etc. The illustrations ruined it for me.
