You and I know that God is not dead but how can we convince others of this fact? This book is a helpful apologetics tool and is pretty easy to read & understand (not too technical or heavy). The author presents 9 key concepts to show that God exists and to help readers answer questions received from unbelievers/ atheists/skeptics. Questions like "Why are we here?" "Why doesn't God remove evil from the world?" and "Who designed the Designer?" and more. Indeed, there's overwhelming evidence for the existence of God...from the incredible fine-tuning of the universe and the intricacies and complexity of life to the historical evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the witness of Scripture. Sadly, regardless of the abundance of evidence pointing to God, some people are blind or stubborn (refuse to go where the evidence leads to God); they're willing to embrace any alternative...anything (no matter how absurd) but God. Scientifically, historically, archaeologically, philosophically, and logically, the evidence for God is clearly seen and undeniable!
I enjoyed reading this informative book and kept underlining as I read. Each chapter starts with two interesting quotes and ends with a concise summary. I found God's Not Dead useful and a great complement to what I learned from the Truth Project. I highly recommend this book for any seekers (you may find answers to your doubts), any believers (you will be able to use what you learn in the book to confidently articulate your faith to unbelievers), and any skeptics (you want truth? I hope you can handle the truth :)).

GOD’S NOT DEAD Evidence For God In An Age Of Uncertainty by Rice Broocks ---Is God dead or alive? Some will debate this question. In this book, you will read about the debates and offered evidence to the fact that God is alive and well. The author gives a close look at the evidence for God’s existence, at nine key proofs in his book that present a solid foundation for believers. Any of these proofs is enough.
The author quotes from both sides of the debate. He quotes from difference atheists and from the scientific community. Giving both sides of the debates gives you the information you need to understand that God is not dead and wants you to believe in Him and follow in his word.
Quoting from the book jacket: “God’s Not Dead guides seekers and reminds believers that real faith is not blind --- it is based on evidence. “

GOD’S NOT DEAD: Evidence For God in an Age of Uncertainty
We live in an age filled with skepticism. Sadly, many believers ignore the need to head the call of Scripture to “always be ready to give an answer for reason for hope that is in you.” Skeptics in our day are continually seeking to wage new and increased attacks on the faith. As great as works like Mere Christianity are, they alone do not help us deal with the newest assaults on faith in Christ. In God’s Not Dead, author Rice Broocks addresses the current attacks on religion waged by people like Richard Dawkins. Broocks establishes evidence for God from the realms of philosophy, science, history, and theology. The does a wonderful job of addressing tougher issues such as the dilemma of good and evil, as well as addressing the idea that religion has done more harm than good throughout history.
It can be easy for an average person like me to shy away from deep and heavy apologetics books. I read plenty of them in college and seminary and finished them with more of a headache than a confidence to handle questions and objections. God’s Not Dead is not a dead apologetics book! It does a wonderful job of addressing the issues in a way that any reader can follow and comprehend with confidence. For anyone serious about being ready to defend the faith against the latest swarms of attacks, I would highly recommend this book. But I would also recommend this book for any believer to help establish their own faith as one that is based on evidence and not just a blind leap of faith.

Rice's hope “is that every believer will be able to grasp the reasons to believe in God and be able to communicate them with the world around them.” (x) In this era of aggressive atheism, Christians cannot afford to be passive and disengaged, Rice argues. Christians must speak the truth boldly. He wants people to have a faith that is intellectually satisfying and spiritually fulfilling.
His book is an overview of the evidence for God.
Rice begins by looking at atheism and the nature of evidence and faith. Reason demands we examine the evidence for faith, as we do science. He argues that good and evil are real and that, if there is no God, there is no evil. He then explores the kind of world God created.
Science indicates the universe had a beginning and Rice explores the inadequate attempts by naturalists to explain it. He follows by arguing that life is no accident, especially because of the complexity of DNA.
He addresses how life can have meaning and the despair of atheism. He explores the uniqueness of humans.
Additional topics he covers includes proof for the historical Jesus, His death and resurrection, the validity of Scripture as reliable, a defense of Christianity and grace in general (including the positive effects of Christianity on society), the growth of Christianity as proof of its authenticity, and personal stories of atheism to faith.
Rice ends with a chapter for those seeking God
This is not an academic work. It will not answer the sophisticated arguments skeptics use. It's content is aimed at the every day conversational level.
Rice has included many anecdotes and that makes this book very readable. It is also a very basic book on apologetics. It is for the unbeliever, a new believer, or a novice in the subject of apologetics. This is sort of a “conversational” book in that Rice writes like he is having a conversation with you, rather than lecturing you. This is the kind of book you might give your atheist neighbor or an atheist friend with whom you share coffee. It is the kind of book around which you can start a dialog with your atheist friend, after you've read it yourself, of course.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from a publicity group for the purpose of this review.
