thewritingbichoneMacon, GeorgiaAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Second Chances is greatFebruary 8, 2013thewritingbichoneMacon, GeorgiaAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4Max Lucado has such insight into the importance of life, everyday life. He shares in this book stories of how as humans we will mess up, fall and fail.
But then he presents the story that we all are titled to have - a second chance.
And who would want to deny that story?
Personally, this is just a good affirmation or confirmation of what Jeremiah 29:11 means to us all - we have hope. -
Dr JSKAge: 45-54Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5July 20, 2013Dr JSKAge: 45-54Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Second Chances: More Stories Of Grace, written by Max Lucado, is a book that strives to formulate a beautiful picture of grace, a picture that serves to remind us that forgiveness is always as near as God.
Who doesn't make mistakes? Who doesn't need the opportunity to receive a second chance once in awhile? Everyone makes mistakes. Everyone needs a second chance, and many of us would do almost anything to get that chance. Max reminds us, through this publication, that the God we love and serve is a God of second chances.
With the turn of every page, we are reminded of the endless love of God. We are reminded that His love is seen and felt powerfully every day within the blessings of His grace and mercy, both of which He chooses to extend to us freely, even though we are undeserving.
Max has divided this book into six sections: For the rebellious, For the regret-riddled, For the prideful, For the mistake-makers, For a faltering faith, and For those who hurt us. Each section contains a few stories that are focused on the topic at hand. While these stories are gleaned from previous works and complied together, they still help us focus powerfully on God's grace.
This book is a wonderful publication and is a recommended read or a good gift for someone struggling with their identity in Christ.

Floyd JohnsonUpstate NYAge: 55-65Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5Offering hope to broken peopleFebruary 1, 2013Floyd JohnsonUpstate NYAge: 55-65Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Max Lucado has taken Grace one step further - rather than merely discuss it Biblical and theological, Second Chances illustrate grace through stories - some from scripture, some from life, and some from the heart.
Each story demonstrates how love accepts us as we are today - with our brokenness, with our scars, and our failings, God accepts us back into His family with open arms. Will you be coming home?
