I have purchased many copies of "The Story" and gave them as graduation gifts to our Bethel Bible Study class as well as to family members. I relish the time I can sit and read this wonderful book myself and see the Word in a different light. For those new to the Bible, it is a great introduction and a much easier read than diving into the full scripture. For those of us a bit more in tuned to the Bible, it's a wonderful refresher!

Have purchased several of these to give to individuals unaware of the Bible's content and seemingly overwhelmed using a standard Bible. This book reads like literature
without the standard Bible format and seems to be a good first step. I would not recommend this for in depth Bible study or as a book for those who are familiar with the regular Bible.

I don't consider this a "bible" and I don't see it being marketed as such like some other people are saying. I see this just as it says "a condensed" story of the bible. It's an excellent tool for spreading the good news in my opinion. I'm pretty sure if someone new to Christ were to read this they would want to pick up a full bible and study it more in depth. I would even dare to say if you've been reading a 400 year old translation your entire life that reading this may open your eyes and give you a few of those "ah-ha now I get it" moments. It's certainly helping me.

As a college student, I am helping my youth pastor teach the teen study to our youth group. It is an amazing study. It is very easy to understand and is great for both those new in their faith and looking for something to help them understand the Bible, as well as those who are farther in their walk with Christ and are looking for a different perspective in their devotionals and studies that they may already be doing. In addition to this, it can be adapted to virtually any age group. I had a guest with me tonight, a little girl in the fourth grade whom I was babysitting. Despite her age, she had the maturity and the intelligence to sit and listen to the story, fill out the worksheet that was provided, and participate in the discussions just as well as the older kids. She was so excited by the end that she asked if she could continue coming to my lessons to hear the other stories in the book! It was such a blessing, and if I had the chance I would give a copy of this book to everyone. It is becoming a very important tool, not only in my teaching to others in the youth group, but also in my own walk with Christ.

I have a very hard time understanding the bible. that is why I ordered The story it is so easy to read I have not finished it yet but hard to put down, I would recommend this book to every one I know. I wish there were more books like this, I will read it again and again I have read the Bible many times in different formats King James etc, but this is the best Thank you for writing this book and God bless you it means so much to me

My church is doing The Story as a church-wide program with about 75% of our regular attenders participating. Received comments have been overwhelming positive and attendance at Sunday School has increased 15% since the program was started.

Our entire church of 5000 is studying The Story. We read one chapter each week. Our pastor preaches a sermon, our Sunday morning classes use it for discussion and our small groups study it as well. Our pastor has urged us all to also answer the questions in the back of the book. It is amazing how alive God's word is. Although all these groups study the same scripture, each group's focus is entirely different. Thank you Max Lucado and Randy Frazee.
