I thought root words would be a subject my son would not much care for but to my surprise he really loves it! This book is very well organized and easy to understand. Each lesson starts with 1-4 root words and their meaning-which I have my child write down-then adds a few prefixes with the meaning of each and then suffixes. I ask my son to write all of them down with their meanings and then it is very easy for him to decipher what the words mean together. This book works really well for us!

I love this book! It has a great layout, and very easily teaches the most common Latin and Greek prefixes, suffixes, and root words. Each lesson has a root word, and a few prefixes, and suffixes to add to the root, so they are learned together in context. My only wish is that it would be more inclusive, but this is an excellent text as is, for the novice. I am pairing this with the "Rummy Roots" card game for reinforcement.
