Memoria Press Christian Studies Book 1, Grade 3, Student Book

This is book I in the three-year series, Christian Studies. This series thoughtfully guides your child through the Golden Children's Bible, teaching him the fundamentals of Bible stories, history, and geography, with solid detail at a manageable pace. Students do not merely skim the surface. They embark on a three-year Bible reading course that builds faith by teaching Salvation History as real history.

Each student book offers 30 lessons, and each lesson is comprised of a scripture memory passage, important facts to know, vocabulary, and comprehension questions that draw out the golden nuggets of meaning in each story. Maps, timelines, activities, and discussion questions offer the critical integration that is central to classical education.

I am homeschooling and we both are enjoying this Bible study workbook. He reads the workbook part of the story then we read the Bible scripture from his Bible. He enjoys the work activities that come next. I like how the verse reference is there if he gets stuck on a question. Also there are the fun activities after that like crossword puzzle, word search etc.
I ordered another one from the same author.

Although this material is written to a teacher teaching in a classroom setting I am finding it good way to dig a little deeper into the Bible for my 3rd grade home school student. It is very easy to use, and the questions are relevant and appropriate for this grade level. Because my student enjoys workbooks, she is eager to delve into it every day, however, using the teacher's guide in conjunction with the WB provides additional material to give the student so it not merely wrote fill in the blanks and you are done. I also like the maps and other detail provided. All in all, a winning selection that is working for us.
