The armor of God is critical for the believer to learn to apply and use in this fallen world. This book is great for putting those possibly obscure terms into settings kids (and their parents! and aunts, and uncles and friends!) can grasp, letting us all gain understanding of both how great and loving God is AND how we are to use his spiritual gifts for our own good.
There are six chapters. Each one takes a piece of the spiritual armor and connects it to a possible real-life scenario that a child today might encounter. Each chapter builds on the next, so no piece of the armor gets forgotten as the story goes along. It ends with a subtle but very possible example of neighbor-to-neighbor evangelism.
The dad is a strong character, engaged in his son's life, and mom is also present and positively depicted.
The book is not large, but it is full of rich material and full-color illustrations, so it is well worth the price. There's really not another book on the subject out there quite like this for kids. The pages are good, sturdy, heavyweight paper too. None of that lightweight newsprint.
I highly recommend it!

I was very disappointed with the book. For the price, I expected a hard cover book. It is a soft cover and very small. We purchased the armor of god set for our nephew and we wanted to include the book, but it was a disappointment.

i was so glad to find this book. i did not know that these various segments of the armor of GOD came published together as a book. before we started homeschooling, our children attended a Christian school. thru a Christian book club, we had ordered these little booklets, but only had about 3 of them. our school discontinued partic w/ the bookclub & we've been searching for these little booklets. then i found that CBD carries the booklets (chapters) published all together as a book. we got it for our son for his birthday. he loves it! we are so glad to have found it! thank you CBD!

This is a very good book that deals with the modern
notion of what the helmet of God means today. I plan
to use this with a teaching with children in Ukraine and
I think that it explains how important this is.

Everyday experiences give Kevin's dad an opportunity to teach his son to apply the full armor of God from Ephesians 6. This fun, illustrated chapter book depicts a strong father-son relationship, and shows how very applicable scripture is to our daily lives and trials. Great for ages 7-10.
