As an early reviewer of this book, I was quite impressed by the hard work JWR puts into his writing. His characters all are facing the dangers of a SHTF situation, and each relies on their extensive planning, community and faith to get them through very trying events. Rawles puts lots of detail into each situation and comes up with some very insightful and I would say frightening conclusions about civil breakdown. For example, one community must face a 1000+ mob of prisoners who are pillaging their way through the community after the prison guards walked off for lack of pay and they escaped en-mass and organized. Rawles is at his best when the shots start firing. Well worth reading just for the thought provoking insights into societal collapse.
