When the Littlest Angel arrives in Heaven, he looks nothing like a cherub, nor does he behave as one. His singing is off-key, he shrills a whistle all the time, and he runs everywhere-causing his halo to constantly fall. This all changes when his most prized possession, a small, worn box is delivered to Heaven for him. The birth of Jesus has come and all of the angels are gathering their gifts to the baby, and the Littlest Angel, after much thought, gives his precious box. See how his gift turns out to be the very best gift baby Jesus receives.'

I didn't realize I was getting an updated version Copyrighted in 2006. I guess I was expecting at least a reprint of the original book. Since I purchased and gave copies of the original for Christmas presents to grade school classmates in the late 40's, I was expecting something more like that version. I delivered papers to earn the money for them. Something unheard of today. Just an old man's disappointment...
I personally did not enjoy this book for my children the words were way to BIG and normally i like big words. I just didn't appreciate the inaccurate description of heaven I'm sure it's supposed to be cute but it's not accurate. I'll pass.
The illustrations are incredible! The story, however, gave a sense of heaven being a place where there are expectations on behavior and certain "good" behavior is rewarded. That is not the kind of heaven I would like to go to and will not expose my grandchildren to that kind of story. I do not feel like this is the heaven the bible speaks of, and the other angels played a bigger part in the story than the God who has already prepared the best place for us in eternity where there will be no expectations of us. I returned the book.
This was my favorite book when I was a little girl. Even before I could read I would sit and look at the pictures for hours. God spoke to my heart. I had one that was printed in the 50's the pictures are different and more (politically correct)but still the same message. I wanted my grandchildren to have it so I bought 3. It was a blessing to be able to get them online because I'm not in a very convienent spot for shopping. Your service was great ..thankyou

Review 5 for The Littlest Angel
Date:February 29, 2008
This is my absolutely most favorite Christmas Story EVER!!! (Aside from the FIRST Christmas Story) I first heard it on record, narrated by Loretta Young when I was 10; I am now 65. I've read to my kids, and passed down a copy. I've used it as a sermon/Christmas program at church. Even after all these years, I still tear up at the end. If you are looking for another story that tells of God's love for his creations, us, you need to get this one. A must HAVE.
