I purchased 5 levels of these workbooks to use as intervention tools for my student who is struggling with writing. They do a good job of presenting the basic concepts, but don't provide enough practice to gain mastery. However, they do provide the framework that can be expanded on to increase a student's chances for mastery.

This is a clearly written and concise workbook of how to write. It clearly explains the writing process and gives examples and activities to help the student understand. I really like the "Writer's handbook" in the back of the book that gives clear definitions and examples of everything the student has learned in the book.
