Common Sense Press One Hundred Sheep: Skip Counting Songs from the Gospels CD

Skip counting by 2, 5, and 10 is important-but what about the other numbers? Skip counting is the basis for multiplication and quick, agile mental math skills; learn skip counting for every number from 2-10 with this fun CD. Children will not only learn math skills, but since stories from the Gospels are used as a basis for the lyrics, these original songs provide biblical lessons as well. 9 songs on CD; lyric booklet included.

I wasn't sure if the songs would be too hokey for my kids but the samples here made me take the plunge and purchase. I have not regretted it! The songs have quickly become favorites in our household, with each of us having our own. Each song has a particular musical flavor (country, island, ballad) and the words are very clear and easy to understand. (He actually sounds a lot like John Denver on one of the songs!) They are clever and very well done. It is perfect for not only skip counting but reinforcing the New Testament parables/ Jesus' life - exactly what I was hoping it would do.

I really needed a skip count cd to help my children learn to skip count. However, I also wanted to "kill 2 birds with 1 stone" and incorporate scripture as well. This cd does a great job of that! It is a relaxing "Jack Johnson" style of music and not cheesy. My daughter commented how easily the songs got stuck in her head. It was a great place to talk about how true that is and that is why it's important to be careful what we listen to and look at! Highly recommend.

I have the cassette version and just bought the CD for 2 young folks in our family as a Christmas gift. Not only does this reinforce some popular bible stories in a very entertaining way, but it really helps kids get started with their multiplication tables. My 3 year old can often be heard singing, 3-6-9... Terrific buy!

I purchased this product (in cassette) many years ago and used it faithfully teaching my children their multiplication facts. Now as a Math teacher in a Christian School, I use the CD over and over again. Many teachers and parents have purchased it to firm up those multiples in such a clever Biblical based way. This is a gem of a product!!
