Set in Rome A.D. 67, two jailers at the ancient Mamertine Prison take custody of a famous criminal. He is Simon Peter of Galilee - apostle, disciple and personal friend of Jesus, also called the Christ. Condemned to death, the elderly Peter (Robert Loggia) recounts his life as a simple fisherman who became one of the boldest figures in all of Christianity. After seeing the previews for this movie, we were really excited to purchase it and add it to our growing collection of quality Christian movies. Unfortunately, this movie was a real disappointment. If we could return it we would. We had to fast forward more scenes than expected (should not have to at all in a Christian movie).
The story of Peter is so incredible, but we feel too many dark demon scenes took away from the miracle of the events leading up to Christ's death and the story of Peter. This movie by no means is appropriate for young children or teens for that matter. We all know there is a spiritual battle, it does not need to be visualized repeatedly in a Dove-approved family movie. If the demonic satan scenes were to be deleted, then the review would improve to a 5. Great story, however unnecessary non-Biblical demonic scenes. HIGHLY recommend a disclaimer for those parts.

This is a very well done movie, great cinematic storytelling. If there is a weaknesses, it would be Bruce Marciano as Jesus. IMO Christ should be the strongest actor, best voice, etc. Don't let that deter you from watching this film -- you will be blessed. Dynamic ending.

We thoroughly enjoyed this movie. You must continue to make more biblical movies. We especially enjoy the movies that are not glamorized by "Hollywood style". Keeping the movie contents, actors and actresses as close to the REAL thing as possible without all the glamour and worldly things that movie makers tend to bring into a movie to sell it. Thanks so much for clean Christian programing. We would recommend this movie to anyone.

Viewing this DVD was a wonderful experience. It was so different than what I expected, that being more activity. No matter, because I was thrilled by the relationship that developed between Peter and the guards, to actually see the touch of the Master upon them as Peter drew them to Him. Thank you.
