Tyndale House Adventures in Odyssey® #2: Danger Lies Ahead Four Books in One Volume

Way back when . . . before Connie arrived in Odyssey or Eugene ever picked up a ukulele, there were fun-loving youngsters in town like Mark Prescott and Patti Eldridge. But like many kids, their curiosity often takes them places that spell trouble. Mark lands in a battle in another time and place, Patti visits an off-limits fortune-teller - plus an escaped convict is headed straight for Odyssey! Behind the dangers are important lessons that will change the lives of the kids in Odyssey - and maybe yours, too! Four books in 1 volume (over 300 pages), including Lights Out at Camp What-a-Nut, Danger Lies Ahead, The King's Quest and A Carnival of Secrets. I grew up listening to Adventures in Odyssey, and even now as an adult, I still indulge from time to time. :) So when I came across this book and realized it provided some back story for the radio show, I was excited to read it. For fans of the show, I think you'll love it, as its written by Paul McCusker, who wrote a great many AIO episodes. I loved that the "voice" was true to the show, and it really read just like an episode of AIO.
I must say, I was a bit surprised with some of the issues dealt with in "Danger Lies Ahead," so I would encourage you to take note of the "ages 8-12" recommendation. Its not that there's anything inappropriate, but just that parts would be heavy for younger kids, such as personality disorders and abusive relatives, etc.
All in all, even as an a adult, I thoroughly enjoyed this foray into Odyssey via book form.

This book was great! It has the same great characters from Strange Journey Back and some new ones. It continues the story of Mark Prescott and introduces Jack Davis. Danger Lies Ahead is a wonderful conclusion to Marks story.

This is the first Adventures in Odyssey book I have bought. It meet all my expectations. I bought it for my 9 yr. old and he loves it!! It's filled with adventure but most of all it's a great Christian book. I will be buying more in this series. It is also great as a gift.

Tons of fun, laughs, suspense, and mystery! A perfect book for anyone between 8-12. The stories pick up a few days after they left Mark Prescott in "Strange Journey Back." A wonderful book.
