Pam Farrel and Dawn Wilson have created a fresh, fun devotional book for women, "LOL with God: devotional messages of hope & humor for women."Each devotional has a text message that will remind us of God's love and care or be an encouragement to us. Each devotional is short with additional scripture to go along with the message that is shared. A feature I really like is the extra space at the end of each devotional for your reflection and own text.I recommend this for women who feel that they are short on time but would love devotionals that deliver a lot in a small amount.*Tyndale House Publishers provided me with a free copy of this book.

I had the chance to review this devotional book for women, LOL with God: Devotional Messages of Hope & Humor for Women. It's a light-hearted book for one to enjoy if you need a good laugh and just to feel revived and refreshed. I did feel that even though I text here and there, I am not into all of the lingo that's currently out there. To me, it is a little irritating. LOL There are a collection of personal stories in this book and text message Bible verses throughout to encourage women in their walk with the Lord. You can 'send up a msg to the Lord, there are 'text helps', an LOL area and a place to write your text msg to God about your life, what you read, or a request that's on your heart. This book is not my personal fav for devotions for women. They aren't deep and serious really and I do like most of my devotions being that way for the most part.Tyndale House Publishers has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book.

Would B so gr8 2 take a vacay w/ a gf asap...right? LOL (Laugh Out Loud)For most women, it would be so great to take a vacation with a girlfriend as soon a possible and the sentence reflects the common everyday use of abbreviated "texter" lingo. Women are constantly texting or tweeting or "facebooking" as part of their personal and professional daily routines. Balancing careers, marriages, children, home, activities, and (now) social media have created a very plugged in and busy schedule for women. Trying to find time to sit still and quietly read is like trying to find a needle in a haystack--mission impossible. With this perspective in mind, confessed awoved "texters", Pam Farrel and Dawn Wilson have written LOL with God: Devotional Messages of Hope & Humor for Women.Like reading texts between friends, these devotionals are short messages filled with real-life stories to encourage, inspire, and uplift. Each devotional contains a Text Message (devotional theme), a Send Up Message (prayer), Text Helps (scripture verses), Your Turn (a place to write or text back your thoughts), and LOL (humorous stories). As a woman, I daily wear many hats throughout the day. Mother to toddler identical twin boys and a preteen son, military wife, columnist, writer, blogger, co-host, consultant, public speaker, chef, maid, chauffeur, etc...my life is multi-tasking. The desire to find some quiet time during the day is something that I strive for. Even unplugged time has to be scheduled in a busy day. With its text like devotions and messages, LOL with God, fits well into the business of daily life because its geared for busy women.LOL with God: Devotional Messages of Hope & Humor for Women is a Focus on the Family book and is published by Tyndale House Publishers. This book is truly a great resource for all busy women who want to feel renewed and encouraged, especially through text. :)

Are you searching for a new devotional guide with messages of hope, love and friendship ? Wanting one that is up-to-date with fresh new ideas ?Review : LOL With God - Devotional messages of Hope and Humor for Women- 2010Are you feeling like you are straying away from god and have the need to get back into daily devotionals with him ? However all the devotional guides you have looked at are boring with a capital B and don''t get your heart-pumping for God. Want something that is fresh, new and different ?. Look no further as Pam Farell and Dawn Wilson have put together an everyday devotional guide for Women. As we all know with technology especially in the form of cellphones are on the rise , the majority of us are all familiar with texting. Pam and Dawn have used the knowledge of text messaging to provide a new and funky way of communicating with God through devotional messages of hope. The devotions are not numbered with dates which means you can pick it up when you want and start whenever , the pressure of an everyday devotion is not there as for me if I see the dates I feel compelled to do a devotion whether I want to or not.Every devotional has a title for example on Pg 60 "Tenacious Temptation" , each devotion has a text message : "w t temptashn he wl lso prvd t wy o escp.* which I had fun working them out each day -this one reads "with the temptation he will also provide the way to escape". Each devotion comes with a short story , then what is called "send up a message" aka a short prayer , "text helps" which is a collection of biblical scriptures and finally "your turn" in which you do an activity for example "write or send a text message back to God about your life, what you read , or a request from your heart".Growing up in a Christian household , Ive seen and worked my way through a fair share of devotional guides and LOL with God would have to be one of the best Ive seen in ages by far.Review Copy , Courtesy of Tyndale Media Group.

Even if you dont understand about texting and using all the different symbols, it is still a great book. I thought it was very funny with some of the things that actually happen to people in everyday life. Pam Farrel and Dawn Wilson show you what things can actually happen to you every single day of your life and also how you can lean on the God also. That is oh so true because I know I need to lean on him every single day, where would we be if we didnt do that? I loved this devotional very much and hope everyone else does also.

Today we instant message everyone. Today everything is fast and easy. We can reach anyone at any time by just a few quick movements of our thumbs. In this fast pass we live in are we making room for God? He is there to receive our messages, are we here to receive His? This is a fun and quirky devotional you will enjoy if you love texting. If you are not, you will learn the lingo and much, much more. This is great for young women, teens, and yes, even us in our forties and older. This book adds laughter to our hearts and a deep message to carry each day. We tend to leave the humor out, but I think God would enjoy a little humor in our lives and trust Him enough to just find pure joy. You will find that in this devotional. This is even one of those books you could use for giving lessons to your Sunday school class or a young teen class. It is a book we can relate to in this world of speedy messages and those LOL's we love to add on to our messages of love. This one is just one that leaves you with not just love, but hope throughout the day. This was a gift from Tyndale for it's review.
