Harvest House Publishers The Power of a Praying Parent - eBook

Stormie Omartian revisits her bestselling book for parents---now with a new cover---by adding new material and the wisdom gleaned from even more years of being a mom. In 30 easy-to-read chapters, Stormie shares from personal experience as to how parents can pray for their children's safety, character, adolescence, peer pressure, school experiences, friends, and relationship with God. Now adults, Stormie's grown-up children also reflect on the way their praying parents raised them---and what a difference it made.

I absolutely love the books by Stormie Omartian. I would highly recommend them to anyone who desires to learn how to pray and reach heaven with their prayers. I grew up in an abusive situation where prayer was not known, so for me to learn to pray to a Father that loved me was a totally new concept. Stormie's books were a great help and I now buy them as gifts for all new parents and spouses!

Have you ever wished for a teaching manual for parenting? This book us a wonderful tool to guide you as a parent. I found it equally as helpful with my little children and my teens. I am going ti get a second copy for my husband so we can read it together, I have highlighted mine and put a lot of notes in the margins. I told my close friends to get a copy for themselves. Luckily, I had a friend who recommended the book for me at a stressful time this year. This book will help you regain focus, control, and direction as a parent.

This teaches you how to pray for your kids and even gives you Bible verses to stand on. She gives practical advice and also sample prayers to use. I found the format very useful.

I have used this book for years to pray for my family. It has given me great encouragement and insight when difficulties arise and may have helped avert some trials. When I am too weary to pray, the prayers are there to be read passionately to God. I now bought this copy as a gift to my daughter and son-in-law as they are expecting our first grandchild.

Great book to use daily to pray for our children, and to have on hand when specific issues arise. When worn down, worried, or wondering what to do, it helps to have these words of prayer. Having this resource has increased my prayers for our son, and has brought me peace in difficult times.

I used this book in the mid-80s when my children were in high school and getting out on their own. It was a valuable tool. Now my daughter has a 19-year son and she needed this book very badly...so I sent her my copy and ordered me another one.

Several parents formed a small group at church and meet once a week to discuss two chapters from this book at a time. The topics have opened up so many wounds that parents carry and don't want passed on to their children. This is only accomplished through constant prayer.
