No idea what to expect when I started reading the book. But as I got into the book, it is a powerful book on loss, death and healing form the loss. A great book full of scripture and scenarios showing us how much God loves us. I really enjoyed the book and am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Loved the story. Inspirational and touching. The stress on forgiveness for things that seem unforgivable, with God's help can be forgiven, oh so true. The characters were freed from a bondage when they forgave. Loved the characters. They were well developed which kept me from going to bed on time at night. Loved the Christian values of the sanctity of marriage.

This book was so inspiring! A Biblical lesson in leaning on the Lord and trusting His will above our own, even when it's difficult and contrary to our heart's desires. Loved this book and highly recommend!

I'm an avid reader and this writer is NOT comparable to Jan Karon, Lavryle Spencer, or any others that I currently read. I found her writing to be "not believable", conversations between characters over done (no one talks like that). During the same day I was listening to an audio book while working around the house..by Lavryle Spencer (That Camden Summer) and the difference in their writing abilities "BLARED" out at me. I was hoping I had found another writer/author who I would enjoy, but I'm sorry to say, it's not Kathleen Morgan. Her story line was very similar to "Letters of a Homesteader Woman" which is a non-fiction book,(WONDERFUL!!)but Ms. Morgan's content came up short of an interesting, believable book. Maeve Binchy, Rosamunde Pilcher, Anne Rivers Siddons, Adriana Trigaini, and so many more are great, NOT in the same league with this writer. Since the e-book was FREE, at least I didn't overpay for it. I will delete it from my Kindle.

Daughter of Joy was hard to put down. It is one of the first Ebooks i read.The story was well-written, wholesome romantic fiction. I highly recommend it, and will be looking for more ebooks by Kathleen Morgan. I read two to three books per week, and many are fun, but not necessarily memorable. When I finished Daughter of Joy, I remember thinking, "That was a good one."

I like that the main character in this book realizes her vulnerability and works to serve others out ,of her pain.
At first I was a little disappointed at one of the choices she made but later she realized it wasn't the right thing in the eyes of the Lord. There were a few surprises thrown in that kept it interesting. Overall I enjoyed this book and would read it again.

Though this book follows a line similar to some others I have read, it is still worth the read. The lessons taught showed that love can grow out of anger and resentment if anyone will look to God to find answers and direction.

I enjoyed this book! Bcz of the necessity of the background info it wz a little slow getting started... And the setting/comments were quite a bit mature themed at times and this was a bit shocking for a Christian novel... Overall tho it had a good ending and theme:) I would recommend this book to a mature adult :)

I was pleased with the Book "Daughter of Joy". Once I sat down to read it I had to read and read till I reached the last page. The Plot was set up very good, keeping you interested till the very end. The characters are interesting and well described. It is a nice read.
What I disliked about the Book was that it was Scripturally incorrect. The Lord tells us not to be "unequally yoked"(that is all I will say to not give away the story). Our body does create feelings and only because we have them does not mean they are from the Lord...
But once again I will say, if you want an interesting read "Daughter of Joy" will sure be enjoyable!

I love this book. I can relate to most of the struggles that the characters have experienced, especially when it comes to forgiving those who wronged us. Excellent writer and very believable characters. it's the first book of Kathleen Morgan that I've read and I will definitely buy her books now.

Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near; let the wicked forsake their way, and the unrighteous their thoughts; let them return to the Lord, that He may have mercy on them, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
When we cannot explain why things happen .. a good reminder that God's ways are not our ways, they are higher than our ways, and God ALWAYS wants what is best for us.

I downloaded the ebook about a month ago, haven't read from this author before and I can say that I truly enjoyed the book!! The book is well written in to such an extent that it took me more time than normal to finish the story. To me the story felt real, not like "it could" happen to somebody but like "it happens" to people. The characters' feelings came out of the pages and I felt them, I cried with them, I laughed with them, and I learned to love people who don't deserve my love . Unlike other books, I wasn't sure how the story was going to end, so that is a plus!!
Another plus is the way God used this book to touch my heart, the words written by Kathleen Morgan, were words my heart needed to hear!!

If you have not read this book then I say you need to...if you are like me I can not grab a book anymore because it is full of sex, drugs, gangs, and foul lag....well this book is one you can download and not to worry it is very good and you can know that you can read without having things that offend you when you are reading...very good clean book
