This book is loaded with loveable characters - I especially liked the loyal housekeeper, and the wise neighbor - intrigue, romance, a few good laughs and a challenge to a deeper Christian walk. Accident prone Ruth has been thrown out of every finishing school in the East, never quite able to put the whole "being a lady" thing together. She hopes it wont matter so much out west, and it becomes quite cute, rather than disastrous. I loved the way Josh was so faithful, praying with Ruth on numerous occasions, gently leading her to a deeper walk with God, and loving her with such sincerity and loyalty. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and recommend it to all lovers of Christian historical romance.

Starting a series with a book like this one puts quit some pressure on all to come!

The heroine is so funny, ernest, clumsy, likeable it just makes one feel good about oneself - not by feeling superior , but by understanding that even I can find my special place where I can be my sometimes odd myself.

    I loved the book!

Obedience to her mother, brings our main character right into a land that is nothing like her past. Only the hope of having a little dress shop is the beginning of her life.. only to find there are riches beyond what she thought she would find in the little town of Gooding Texas!

The characters come alive with each word and the simple tale seems to take you into the storyline. This was my second Cathy Marie Hake book and I found an unexpected adventure in this book!

The kindness of reaching out to take care of our neighbors in grace and love is a rich tale indeed. The slowly built romance between the characters brings the blossom of a smile to your face! Yes, you must read this one too!

    LETTER PERFECT (Book #1)

    Cathy Marie Hake

This is an older book that was a free download, which I am so glad I read! The characters were fun and flawed. I love how God is on peoples hearts and lips frequently, but not in an overbearing way. More like He is just a normal, flowing part of their lives, as it should be. I did not see the big twists coming, and once revealed just get deeper and deeper into a massive knot of ugly! I laughed at times, and cried at times, and genuinely enjoyed myself. There is determination, hard work, western theme set in CA when the railroad was growing, and war just around the bendbut, thankfully not in this book. Theres a general store, and neighbors helping neighbors, and sweet building romance. There is also greed and some mystery. The ending is settled, so you can read it as a stand-alone if you choose to.

A new favorite quote of mine from this book is, If theres going to be a banquet table in Paradise, I dont see why there cant be a tea table, too.

I give it 5 out of 5 stars and would recommend it to others.

Included at the end of the book: n/a

This copy was downloaded for free and I am offering my honest opinions for no compensation.

Ruth Caldwell lost everything when mother dies. Now she has come west seeking a father she has never known. But she finds that Alan Caldwell has passed away and she may have inherited have half of the ranch that he owned.

Josh McCain has his hands full running the family ranch. He doesnt need an eastern woman showing up claiming to be Alans daughter. However, as frustrated as he is with Ruth, the more time passes the more he finds himself falling in love with her.

Ruth and Josh were very cute as a couple. They worked well together and I adored the fact that they became friends before they fell in love.

I also loved who the villain turned out to be.

As far as the story goes, honestly it was fairly simple and straightforward. Lots of dialogue so it makes for a quick read.

If you are looking for a fun, light book, this might be it.
