To much non subject reading. Did not enjoy it. Wrote like a textbook and not a testimony. I would have liked to share this story, which I think is a good story with some younger friends, but I won't attempt to pass this book along. It is not reader friendly, nor is the recounting spirit filled in my oppinion. So Sorry.

Enlightening and gives an example of a person putting her trust in God and witnessing as a christian during stressful times and how she handled her becoming the first African American to win the Gold Medal in the winter olympic's .

My daughter loved this book. She gave it to her Middle School library so other African American girls could be inspired by this great woman of God!

This book is not very well written, but overall, Vonetta provides a great witness of the value of faith and dedication for those in difficult life situations.
