Oswald Chambers (1874-1917) was the son of a Scottish Baptist pastor and was converted under the ministry of Charles H. Spurgeon. Following formal theological training in Scotland, he traveled throughout the United Kingdom, the Far East, and the United States, lecturing on the Scriptures. In 1911, he founded the Bible Training Center in Clapham, London. He died in Egypt in 1917. His wife, a stenographer, compiled his books from his lectures and published them after his death. My Utmost for His Highest has become an international bestseller.

I have been reading this book daily since December and it has truly been a blessing to me! Oswald Chambers writes in such a way that it makes you think - because it is not our "everyday English." It definitely makes you think.

In a nut shell; it is living our utmost. The entire purpose is not about us but that our utmost will extend to His Highest.
If we live our utmost for that purpose, we will glorify God.
This book is handsomely and richly made with someone's utmost desire for quality. The daily thoughts will never be outdated because the days of the months are not according to a certain year, but, rather for the particular day number of a particular month. It does not have to be read every day. But, every day of every month in any year there is a rich thoughtful encouragement to ponder as your day unfolds or ends. I give 5 stars plus in every category of this top-shelf literature.

This has been my ONLY Daily Devotional for many years.
Each year when I begin reading from the beginning, it is as though I have never read it.

As we move from level to level in our Spiritual growth, development and unfoldment another level of understanding is opened. This Devotional just as "The Bible" also reveals more of Itself.

There is no need to rate Oswald Chamber's classic work. It is with very good reason that people are still reading it nearly 100 years after his death. The great thing about this particular product is its size. It was especially important to me to find an edition that had one dated entry per page. This is it! Compact and sleek looking, easy to carry anywhere; I will be buying more as gifts in the future.
