Teaching Textbooks Inc Teaching Textbooks: Math 7 Kit (Windows & Macintosh)

Designed specifically for homeschoolers, Teaching Textbooks 7 is designed for independent students, with the "teacher" and "textbook" elements combined. The textbook offers detailed instructions, fun illustrations, real-world examples, extensive review and already high-lighted important concepts; and if your student gets stuck, there's always the audiovisual step-by-step solutions for every one of the homework problems and quizzes! Students will listen to the lectures that explain new concepts, read the summary in the workbook, work each problem, effectually using all learning styles; or you can mix and match to suit your own personal needs. The CD-ROMs also include automatic grading and feedback on every problem (great for time-stressed parents!) and animated lectures with lots of real world applications. There are even audio hints for some of the tougher problems! Fun, applicable and made just for you, the homeschooler!

Math 7 covers basic arithmetic problems as well as geometry. Chapters include adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and using whole numbers in the real world; fractions; decimals; percents; geometric measurements; graphing and more. Teaching Textbooks Grade 7.

I love Teaching Textbooks! This is my first year using them and my 12yo does so well with it! She's an independently driven student, so that helps, but the program is simple, explains concepts clearly, and my daughter can navigate it without a problem. She loves looking back over her grades and that visual motivates her to work hard. We have had to reset the program due to personal computer problems and the customer service was wonderful, knowledgeable, and genuinely looking to help, such a breath of fresh air! Math is not my forte, I look forward to having all of my children using TT!

My kids really wanted to try this curriculum because it looked so fun....I liked that it looked easy for me...built in grading & gradebook, SWEET!....unfortunately, I think it's too easy for them....I had my first grader doing math 3...keep in mind she has only had Singapore K math....she got 100% on the first 3 lessons....easy! But my bigger concern is she was learning how to get the right answer but not learning the big picture math concepts we saw with Singapore.....Singapore's though, I'm not going to lie....I found it frustrating because I have 3 grades & one of mine has learning issues, Singapore was super hard for her...but at this point I felt like a bad Mommy to let me kids do TT....I wanted to like it because I thought it would make my life easy....and it would. But we're in California & this is way below the expectations I had for it. I don't want to keep up with public school (and actually my children have only been in private & now home)...but this would have put them at a huge disadvantage to continue until college....not because of state schools, because I don't even care if my children want higher education or not...but because Singapore will create larger capacity in them as thinkers for the rest of their life. I'm putting all 3 TT on ebay & ordering Singapore....Last year I was learning from it & enjoyed it expanding my capacity to think creatively & out of the box. I want kids who think big & out of the box too...that's what this world needs. TT is like the math I learned as a kid that's just to get the right answer, not to learn to think differently. My kids are a little sad...they will miss their burbing & growling buddies, but I just can't have a clear conscience letting them use this out of date method after I've been exposed to Singapore. It's WAY inferior to what we're used to....bye bye to the easy life mama....hello working hard to equip kids for the rest of their lives!

We've only been doing Teaching Textbooks for two weeks but what I've found is it's really simple. I'm not against simple but I would like it to be a little more challenging.

My child HATED math. Now she enjoys math and understands it. If your child needs to 'see' math, this is the perfect curriculum.

My son has high functioning autism and math has always been where he has the most challenges. I just started using this curriculum this year and can't express enough how pleased I am with this product. There is much review, which has helped with his retention. I also like that there are so many word problems. The other curriculum we were using only used them sparsely. So far, we have had multiple word problems with every assignment and I have noticed that he is doing better in figuring out how to do them independently. I will definitely be using Teaching Textbooks from now on.

I love, love, love it! I used Teaching Textbooks last year for 6th, 9th, and 10th grades, and it is hands down the best I've used. I won't be using anything else for math.

We used this only for 7th grade, as we had gone through the Strayer-Upton Practical Arithmetics books until then. I loved the economy and quaint-ness of the Strayer-Uptons, as well as their portability and good old-fashioned arithmetic, but the Teaching Textbooks sure did take a load off of me! My kids loved the instant feedback and explanations. You actually don't even need the write-in worktext, since you are doing the exact same thing on the computer, which keeps track of everything for you (you can print records out, if you wish). The workbook is redundant until after TT 7, at which time everything is done in the worktext and not on the computer-- in other words, after TT 7, you only get the lecture on the computer.
I highly recommend the Teaching Textbooks series, with one caveat: in my opinion, they are one grade behind. However, things are explained a lot better than they were when I went to school, and since we homeschoolers aren't trying to race to the finish... no big deal. This program is such a time saver, it's fun and interesting, and kids just love it.
