His "El Shaddai" has the most heart of themany good versions available. Card is a goodsongwriter with a pleasant voice and this CDholds many examples of his fine work.

I confess that I am a huge fan of the music of Michael Card and this album is a terrific anthology of some of his greatest works. What is so impressive to me about the work of Card is that it is both immensely entertaining in an easy-listening, country folk style and contains deep and rich theological expression. I cannot overstate what a rarity it is in Christian music to find an artist who can blend together both domains with clarity and passion.

Gave it as a gift. The song "Health the World" will be sung on a Women's Cursillo weekend. (Catholic retreat)

This music of Michael Card I found to be individually unique, more so I think than even his others. Some, like Joy in the Journey, That's what Faith Must Be and Celebrate the Child are light and hopeful. Others like Scandalon, Known By the Scars, Why? and Lift Up the Suffering Symbol are more strongly sung (as felt) expressing the pain of our Saviors ordeal. There are others that are expressions of strong expectation, like How Long, Heal Our Land. For me, when I first heard this particular music I was refreshingly surprised at Michael Card's ability to create this varied range of emotions and expressions and because so, quite enjoyed it. He sings each aspect of the Savior's life differently, as his walk, as ours is ever changing. Much of today's recordings are minimally varied and/or are loud, and I think is why there are so many mixes, which is sad because they replace the creativity, if originally willing, of the christian artist to stretch themselves from the inside out in telling the different emotions and experiences of both the Savior and believers. Nevertheless, this cd also was/is reasonably priced. Another score for cbd!
