Provident Music Distribution In The Company Of Angels: A Call To Worship, Compact Disc [CD]

While they may be better known for their tight instrumentation and mellow pop/rock sound, Caedmon's Call got their start as worship leaders back in Texas at the Second Baptist Church of Houston. The thriving congregation there is the nation's second largest Baptist church and the place where lead singer Cliff Young's father and brother are both pastors.

The group's worship style may have been shaped by that Texas church, but the modern worship sound on this new release runs the musical gamut---from traditional hymns to live recordings to a previously unrecorded chorus titled "Oh Lord ,Your Love" penned by the late Rich Mullins. Each of Caedmon's Call's members contributed to the songwriting process, making this a true collaboration and a fitting follow-up to last year's Long Line of Leavers.

I'm on the worship team at my church, and I hope that we can start using all of these songs in our church! What a perfect expression of what worship should be! Not only are all the songs God-centered, but each song focuses on some aspect of who God is and what He has done.

You have to get this cd. I love it. I like all the songs, but I like "God Of Wonders" and "I Boast No More" the best. These songs gave me a closer relationship with God.

This is a truly exceptional album, musically and lyrically. Every song is amazingly God-centered, with intelligent and beautiful words that are worshipful throughout. One can't help but be reminded that worship is ultimately about who God is and not about ourselves. Musically, Caedmon's Call continues to grow, returning somewhat to their roots while still being innovative. A noteworthy track is "Thy Mercy", a catchy dusted-off-the-shelf-and-musically-updated reflection on God's infinite goodness to His children.

I love this cd and can't wait to get it. One of my friends has it and let me borrow it. I loved it! Usually teens don't like hymns but I love them. This a mix which is perfect for teens. My favorite songs are 'Who You Are', 'We Delight', and 'God of Wonders'. I suggest this cd to anyone that loves hymns mixed with newer stuff.

This fall has been an incredible season for Worship music. Michael W. Smith and Caedmons Call have both put out superb worship CD's. I think, in light of the September 11 events, these two CD's have even more meaning that God is still God through it all. As for this CD, it blends the very talented acoustic/coffeehouse style of Caedmons Call into a worship setting. Because of this, I find that this is CC's best CD yet. As one listens to this CD, one cannot help but be drawn into the presence of God.

This is a great CD, I love the songs. We need more CDs like this! Using the hymns is so cool! In a generation where hymns in most cases are preferred by the older and CCM by the younger. Taking the two and combining them is so awesome!

Brilliant. Caedmon's Call is redefining the revived worship movement with such honest intent and purposeful lyrics. Drawing on their own unmistakable sound, seemingly universal "common-man" experiences, deep friendships, insightful mentors, and both church and music history, Caedmon's Call has created a surge in the homogenous worship movement. The songs are solid, potent expressions of faith old and young, offsetting the typical worship style with a blistering reality - true depictions of who God is - and the hope that comes from Him. It is an incorrect assumption that In The Company of Angels was produced as a late step following the direction of the worship crowd. Rather, it exists as an unabashed statement of artisans and musicians who arent afraid of using even Hymns (Yes, I said Hymns) to get the true message across. This honesty and humility in worship is undeniably relevant today, and once again, Caedmons Call employs their gifting wonderfully.

Not just a 5 but a 5+++++! The hymns on this CD are a breath of fresh air in a field of CCM that is so filled with "me" centered lyrics. These songs are God exalting expressions of hearts enflamed with joy and eternal satisfaction in the Lamb who is our righteousness. Sound theology, great music...who could ask for more?
