This is my favorite spiritual Christmas CD. The lyrics are so moving and meaningful and the arrangements are interesting and varied. I have purchased many of this CD by Michael Card and given them away as gifts. Absolutely wonderful music!

I really enjoyed the CD. I had heard one of the songs before the purchase and thought I'd take a chance on buying the CD. (I even bought one for a friend.) I love the lyrics. It was really nice to listen to while wrapping presents and writing out Christmas cards. It just kept me focused on the true "Reason for the Season". It was well worth it! The songs are beautiful and full of meaning.

Michael Card -in his written or musical offerings- tends to provide a deeper perspective on the Lord's gospel message. Songs on "The Promise" trace the joys of Christmas back to the humble origins of Christ's birth and forward to the ultimate gift of his resurrection. This is not the standard holiday album....enjoy.

This CD has ALWAYS been one of our family's favorites. It follows the birth narrative through song, incorparating Scripture throughout. The music is beautiful; the words, profound; the effect, masterful. If you are searching for something that will draw your heart upward and stir your soul to adoration and praise, this is the CD to buy.

God has given Michael Card a great gift of insight & musical talent. "The Promise" is the very best collection of music & lyrics on one CD that I have ever heard. God's Holy Spirit really envelopes every song. I can see God smiling. I have been listening to Michael Card & other christian artists for a long time, and he's at least at the top with the best, if not the best as far as I'm concerned. Every christian should own this CD. It's especially relevant during the Christmas season, but then, I believe it's relevant all year long, too. Thank you, LORD JESUS for giving us Michael Card & the resources needed to share his God-given gift with us.

This is an unbelievably good CD of Christmas songs, but I listen to mine year round. "Joseph's Song" is a wonderful imagining of the thoughts and feelings, which may have been running through Joseph upon the birth of Jesus. "We Have Found Him" is an up-tempo, uplifting tune that will stick in your mind all day -- but in a positive way! I can't recommend this CD strongly enough -- it's just wonderful.
