This CD is a great combination of what makes us love Twila Paris so much...gentleness and strength! It's a CD to listen to when you want to sit and enjoy a bit of quiet time and get fed with hope.

I have always loved Twila in this format. Simple musical productions with all the instuments sounding out for themselves prettily. Her lyrics are wonderful!!! I have been listening to this over & over again, singing along as a prayer to God personally. Her soft voice is soothing! Great pick!

Excellent music and lyrics as always from Twila Paris. I only wish they had released accompaniment tracks to some of these songs - I'd love to be able to sing some of these at my church.

As always Twila's ministry is profound. Sheis a very annointed singer, and gives youa desire to want to be in His presence 24/7.I highly recommend this cd to anyone who wants more of God.

This record has been on quite a journey, first released during Twila's 2007 summer concert tour and then exclusively via one retailer. At long last, the project is being released for wider distribution via KOCH Records. The relationship with Koch seems unusual, but Small Sacrifice is an unusual and noteworthy record. The project, like the new partnership, is not what you might expect. Fans of piano-based pop rock will have much to appreciate. Small Sacrifice is a cross between Joy Williams, Nichole Nordeman and Bethany Dillon. The rhythmic drive of "We Know Love" launches the CD and betrays a number of euro pop/rock influences. The lyric of the track relies heavily on 1 John 3:16. "I Can Do All Things" is possibly the strongest track. Sung as a power ballad duet with Chris Rodriguez, the song boasts an impressive guitar solo and timely lyrics based on Phillipians 4:13. Another strong track is "There is a Plan." This brooding rocker starts slow and builds to a frenzy as Twila shares stories that reveal that God has always had a plan and still has one today (a very timely message). This track recalls past rockers from Casting Crowns ("Set Me Free") and Kim Hill ("Mysterious Ways").The song "You Are a Great God" begins almost like a lullaby with a straightforward worship chorus, but builds with conviction as Twila sings with passion about her great God. Other album highlights include the title track (mid-tempo ear candy that compares that which we have to give versus that which God gives us) and "Alleluia" (a praise chorus that recalls some of Twila's work in the 1980s).Overall this is a very strong recording from one of the founding mothers of Christian music. There is a reason that Twila has amassed 33 number one hits and 10 Dove Awards. That reason can be found in "Small Sacrifice." If you own other Twila CDs, this is a CD you won't want to miss. If you've never purchased a Twila CD, this is a great place to start!
