On their rootsiest effort to date, Christafari revisits their musical and spiritual foundation with dramatic results. Full bodied horn melodies, heart pounding bass and precise drum rhythms form the perfect backdrop for frontman Mark Mohr and an A-list of special guests.
Gospel Reggae is not big in the Christian music scene, maybe because it's not popular in the U.S. for Christians or there's no real knowledge of this genre. Christafari has been on the scene for over a decade and this CD is one of their best. It has that roots sound mixed in with a little dancehall; great bass lines, horns, and great rhythms. Some of the stand out songs are The Prodigal (which gives you that ska-like groove), My Defender, Taking Over (my personal favorite), Triumphal Entry, and the title track. Mark Mohr is versatile as always and his list of special guests add authenticity to the reggae sounds. In addition, you get alot of song for your buck. For those that don't know the Christian reggae sound, pick up this CD and groove with Christafari, mon.
