Go West Young Man was Michael W. Smith's first major attempt at courting the secular market. The plan worked wonderfully, with the record eventually going platinum, based largely on the success of the single "Place in This World," which showcases Smith's sensitive songcraft and emotive vocals. Other standout tunes include "Love Crusade," "How Long Will Be Too Long," the title track, and the worship classic "Agnus Dei."

Great Christian music like this never goes out of style. The music is upbeat and fun, and the lyrics focus you on God and your relationship with him.

Got to be one of the best Michael W. Smith CDs of ALL TIME!!! Back in 1989, Smitty found the pop charts with a couple of songs from this recording. Also, this CD debuted "Agnus Dei", which has become an extremely popular praise and worship song. This CD depicts Michael W. Smith at his very best!!!

This is my 4th Michael W. Smith CD purchase. If your spirit is not moved to tears of joy,listen to it again! You just can't lose when you purchase his music! "Seed to Sow", is my new favorite! Thanks, Michael for sharing your gift!

NOT Decyfer Down. If you've been a fan of the old stuff...then more than likely, you will have to completely change your expectations with the new record. I would've liked to have given it a decent score but I was so disappointed. There's already too many bands with the "southern rock" sound and weak vocals...sadly, I think they should give it up.
