Okay, I dig basketball, but I haven't spent countless hours in study of practice of it. So I don't really KNOW basketball. That being said, you may like underground hip hop, but if you really KNOW it, you will love Mars Ill, and Backbreakanomics. I've been writing and hearing music in my head on a daily basis for years, and I'll tell you, this is a masterpiece. It's brilliant of them to avoid trying to reproduce Raw Material. I'd call this their Nia. Expansive, ambitious, and as diverse an album as I've heard in a while. Oh, and Jus from Company Flow once again blesses us all on "Sideline Speech". Anyone who truly knows about underground sees this as the confirmation for this album. Big Jus is THE emcee. And if he's feeling Mars Ill, that's enough for any loyal head. If you read the handwritten corrections on the artwork, Fowler's review will be hilarious to you.

Now THIS is MUSIC! This is music that you can share with the non-believers and they can actually like it! Doing a review for this album wouldn't do it any justice. Pick up the album!

This new CD by Mars Ill is definitely an album worth buying. With 19 tracks of great beats by Dust and incredible rhymes by Manchild. Manchild's style on the mic really hooks you into the song. My favorite tracks are "Breathe Slow", "Piecemeal", and "Planes and Trains" featuring Pigeon John and Blu Print. Also, inside the CD case, there's a little commentary on each song, which I thought was pretty cool. So, buy this album; you won't regret it.

Mars ill is on point. Some super hot tracks on this one: Breathe Slow, Enterchange, and AFTERLIFE!!! Only reason its not a solid five, it seems to me they maybe ran out of gas a bit towards the end of the disc. Couldve had 2 or 3 less tracks and the album would be a super solid five+. Dont miss the best rhymes in the Christian hip hop arena.

I've bee waiting for another Mars ILL release for a long time and this album is pretty solid if you can handle the slow paced beats. The reason why I rate this product 4.5 is because Manchild brings fresh lyrics while DJ Dust is tight on the turntables. Memorable tracks would be "Breathe Slow", "Freeze Framework", and "Planes and Trains" feat. Pigeon John (of LA Symphony) (everybody has a destination, just listen to the track). I have two tracks that I love; "Enterchange" and "Piecemeal". Both tracks are upbeat and tight. In conclusion, "Backbreakanomics" is a must have for underground hip hop lovers. The cover art might have been better, but other than buy the album.
