I purchased this CD for my father as a Christmas gift and now find that I enjoy it just as much or more than he does! It far exceeded my expectations. Chris Rice has done a great job in his selection of songs and renditions of them. My only complaint would be that the CD seems to be very short (or perhaps it is just that it goes by quickly in my perception), but that is not a big deal because the sooner the CD ends the sooner I can listen to it all over again! I highly recommend!

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! This CD is GREAT! I love the old hyms done Chris Rices' way! The harmonizing is WONDERFUL! I highly recommend this CD! It is so AWSOME!

Chris Rice is one of my favorite Christian singers, and in my opinion this CD is the best of Rice. His heartful singing surely leads my heart/mind to worship the Lord.

This album was a breath of fresh air in what has become an industry of redesigning classic hymns. Stripped,and basically bare acoustic arrangements brought a refreshing touch to these hymns of my youth. Many thanks to Chris for being brave to do this!! Very enjoyable, but also brings you into a reverent attitude of worship that we sometimes miss with the more energetic forms of worship today. Go for it, you won't be disappointed.

My heart was weighed down with the burdens of my life: disappointment, fear, anguish. Because I love the old hymns that I grew up with, I put on Chris Rice's "Peace Like A River" CD and instantly drew into the presence of the Lord. Truly, peace flooded my heart and the joy of the Lord returned. This CD will calm the troubled heart and bring to life the music of the steadfast and strong songwriters of our faith.

Amazing! The choice of Hymns is perfect. The music and vocals are second to none. He does a great job of adding life to the hymns without changing the familiar melody (the only one that is different at all is The Old Rugged Cross, but it is still done well). I highly recommend this CD to anyone.

If you are looking for soothing, uplifting, praise filled older hymns, you will not be disappointed in this CD. The harmony and instrumental backgrounds in this CD are absolutely wonderful. I cannot say enough about Chris Rice and his musical talent. Great Buy!!
