Jars of Clay is really my favorite all-time band, Christian or secular. I look back over the years of music listening and find that I gravitate back to their CD's for more 'repeats'. I always seem to stumble upon a "new" favorite songs as I grasp the depth of their lyrics or have a new appreciate for some of the subtleties in their music arrangements. I enjoy them every bit as much as I enjoy the Beatles (strong words, I know).
But this album effort is lame -- there is a rushed sense to me on how this was pulled together. The music is overly simplistic and too much of this "unison"-type singing and guitar playing. I cannot even make it all the way through the album, it is so disappointing to me.
Look forward to future efforts...meanwhile I have their previous albums queued up!
