Capitol Christian Music Group Hovie Lister and the Statesmen CD
In every field of endeavor, there is a standard of excellence by which everything else in that field is judged. In the field of gospel music, many feel that Hovie Lister and The Statesmen set that standard back in the early '50s. The songs in this collection were originally released by RCA Victor in the '50s. They were recently remastered and are available to the public again with the highest fidelity that today's technology can provide.

This CD was wonderful. I love it because it was an older groups singing and I really liked because it had 22 songs on this CD. Also thank you for sending it so fast.

I have been collecting Bluegrass, Country & Sourthern Gospel music over the past 40+ years and this CD recorded by Hovie and the Statesmen is by far the finest music that I have ever listened to. No other Quartet can or will be able to do what Hovie Lister did back in the 50's with Jake, Doy, Denver and Chief. This CD will NEVER be duplicated by any past or up-coming quartet. "Hat off to RCA Victor for having the outstanding knowledge to get these boys recorded while they were coming off with the finest Gospel music ever to be heard this side of Heaven "! The Statesmen are in a class by themselves, and this CD should be emulated !Thank you.

This CD is very good. I like these old versions of songs. I never heard old stuff like this, but I like it. Most of the songs are fast-paced and I recommend this CD even though I was born in the 80's.
