I was expecting a variety of vocal artists and the disc is all instrumental.

First of all, I have to point out that this CD is not a new release as of 2008, but rather a remake of a CD done in 1989. Having owned the original CD from 1989, I must say that the songs are very excellent. The musicians that play the music make you feel as if you are really in the mountains somewhere hearing them play. The album is about a half hour, and well worth the money. The original 1989 album was produced by Brentwood Music, and I believe this newer one is as well (although I don't actually own it, so I can't say for sure). Also, there is a DVD of this as well, which is a remake of the video that came out years ago. And there are many other Smoky Mountain videos and CDs that are being remade, such as Smoky Mountain Hymns, Vol. 2, and Smoky Mountain Christmas. I would recommend all of these to any bluegrass or old time music fan; they are 6 out of 5 stars in my opinion.
