One of the things that I most appreciate about George Beverly Shea's gospel singing is that I can understand all of the the words and carry them with me throughout the day. Yes, his voice is noticeably older in a lot of his recordings and he has to reach or adapt for some of the notes, but there is something endearing and precious about an elderly Christian who still delivers the gospel in song.
