This album has a definite country feel to it, but the messages it gives are all about family and strong, Christian values.
Two members of my family are not country music fans - they both love this album. I do like country music, and I love this album as well.
"Every Saint" is a great song that reminds us, that even if we stumble and look up to someone who apparently does everything right, that person isn't perfect either, and there's grace for us too. The sentence "every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future" sums it up beautifully. "The Maker of Them All" starts with the same premise, and continues to remind us God loves us and is watching over us.
"Are You The One" - definitely a song for now when teachers feel they are the ones to teach children respect (amongst other things). This song reminds us where the primary responsibility lies: with the parents; and it does so in a gentle manner (not accusing).
Ever felt down because of what everyone else must be thinking of you? "The People That Matter" contains a message that most likely we've all heard at some point or another, but that we tend to forget.
"More Power To Ya" shows an appreciation for everyone who finds themselves in tough situations but still held on.
The title song, "Breathe Deep" tells us to remember to stop every now and then and just appreciate all we have.
"Knowing What I Know About Heaven" - It is very difficult when losing someone close to you, and I'm grateful I haven't had to experience it very often yet. This song reminds us that death is not the end; it's the beginning of something infinitely better.
"The Broken Ones" - I know this song has been beautifully recorded by other artists as well, but Guy Penrod manages to give it a country feel. It's one of my favourite songs.
Ok, I didn't set out to discuss each song on the album, and I haven't... I only ended up discussing about two-thirds. That's not to say the other five songs are not worth discussing, because they are, but I think with the short reviews of these songs I've given you a good impression of mine.
Overall, this album is a combination of reminding us of our responsibilities as well as our blessings.
Convinced? Not convinced? In either case, if you have the chance to go see Guy Penrod in concert, go for it and you can decide for yourself. If the songs themselves do not convince you, at least listen to the message behind them.

I enjoy listening to this Cd often and have sent it to children and grandchildren. Guy has a beautiful voice, sings with feeling, and is an inspiration to Christians by singing about things in this life that are important. They are also fun to sing along with. Very inspiring!

Guy Penrod has always been my favorite gospel singer. I really didn't know what to expect from this first album. I was totally blown away, not only with that beautiful, rich voice, but, even more, with the message that the music carries.

This CD is a must-get! I've always been a fan of Guy with the GVB, but when I bought his solo CD I liked it even better than when he was with the GVB! This is country music at its best. All the songs are upbeat and get a smile onto my face. My favorites are "Pray About Everything," "Every Saint," and "More Power To Ya." You won't regret buying this!

If you love country music, this album was excellent. We loved every song.(My husband, kids and I) This is great christian country music without the secular, depressing lyrics. I love country music and have been praying for something wholesome to listen to. This hit the spot.

My 10 year old son loves this CD. Only negative is that the songs all have a similar sound and rhythym, but Guy Penrod has a great voice, and this is a great CD

Guy Penrod is one of my favorite gospel singers, and he has really outdone himself on this CD! The songs have so much heart and truth in them, I have been listening to them over and over again, and sharing them with everyone! I especially love #13, since my nephew was killed in an accident recently, it really gives me comfort. Outstanding!!!
