Flyleaf's first and best album is beyond doubt their heaviest, with Lacey Mosley's incredible vocal's and many fresh, exploding guitar riffs. Amazing album!! Fully Alive, Sorry, I'm So Sick, and Breathe Today are the outstanding tracks that remind you of Evanescence, The Letter Black,
Fireflight, and other hard rock bands with female vocalists.

Flyleaf is a phenomenon to say the very least. Styled after Evanesence, they take the female hard rock scene to a whole new level with insightful Scripturally based lyrics, an alternately angelic and incredibly powerful female vocalist, and musicians that know how to make the most of a tune! Get this CD, and make sure you get their latest Memento Mori, which, in my humble opinion, is even better!

This band has recently become very "in" in my town (we're a little slow) and I bought this cd, mainly to gain some common ground with most of my friends who, despite being Christians, tend to look down a bit on Christian music. I actually like Flyleaf - although many of their songs feel kind of short (less than three minutes) they are accomplish the task of being a good Christian hard rock band. And I'd also like to try and put to rest the constant arguments on whether this band is a Christian band or not. A lot of Christian parents seem to be concerned, and I hope this helps:For those of you who keep bringing up the argument saying they never mention God's name, they do. It is in the chorus of "Cassie" (which, by the way, is not about suicide, it's about the Columbine massacre) and also in "So I Thought" and the acoustic version of "Fully Alive." And almost every other song deals with Biblical themes and many are sung to or about God. So don't doubt this band's integrity, they really do love the Lord, and for fans of hard rock music I highly recommend this band.

I'm 17, and I love this band! I give props to all the parents out their who are open minded enough to let their teens listen to them. I understand that they maybe a little "hard core" for some of you but they are a Christian band with good lyrics and morals all you have to do is listen and you can see that. and this is the kind of music were into. just because it doesn't sound like a Gather cd doesnt' mean that it's not glorying God. On top of all that listening to a band with a sound that everyone can relate to gives your kids witnessing opportunities. And gives them a way to relate God to pop culture for their non Christian friends. So yah, props to the parents! :)

I'm a mom in my 30's and this band is one of my daughter's favorites. I give this three stars because Flyleaf makes me confused. Their song 'All Around Me' I must admit, is a great song and I too LOVE IT. But most of their other songs, are a little hard and make wonder if their glorifying their struggles or rather glorfying the One who offers them peace in the midst of the struggles. I've heard Dr. James Dobson say so many times 'pick your battles'. I picked the battle on music many times, and dare I say, once too many. Combining Flyleaf, some Pillar, some Skillet and some Red, I just couldn't take it anymore & (mistakely) took all my daughter's musis away. To say the least, it made her a little angry. We talked about it all and after a while, we sat and watched the Flyleaf videos on GodTube and even watched an interview of the lead singer. ALthough it's not necessarily my speed, my daughter still loves them and the singers DO give all the praise and glory over the Lord. There's a lot to combat in this world, Flyleaf doesn't need to be another battle. Let your kids get it and trust that as they mature, the Lord is leading them, even through music like this. :-)

I like the acoustic versions of the songs, they allow me to hear the words. The regular versions of the songs are a little harsh for the contemporary christian music listener.

This CD is a must for every teen. Amazing chord progressions, colorful guitars, and lyrically off the charts, Flyleaf makes a bold statement, and it's only their first (album). BUY IT! God is pleased with anything that shouts to him, and Flyleaf definitely does. Just because the use of his name is minimal, doesn't mean that they don't worship God.

Who says this is negative and without Christian lyrics? How is this negative: "Take my hand, I give it to you, Now you own me - All I am, You said you would never leave me, I believe you, I believe" ??? Because the songs don't include "Lord" or "Jesus" doesn't mean it's not about Christ. This band puts out a VERY positive message with music kids like. They're a much needed band in a world of depressing, negative music.

Flyleaf does a beautiful job with this album. I've heard some reviews criticize them for being "negative" and "shallow," but I see no such thing. Musically, the album is beautiful; mostly singing with a little screaming here and there. My favorite song on the album is "All Around Me," a fantastic love song to God. I definitely recommend this album to any fan of Evanescence or Plumb, especially if you're looking for something a little harder.

The special edition of Flyleaf's cd takes it to the next level. The acoustic songs will draw in new listeners who can't connect with the rock songs of the originals and leave them hungry for more. Lacey's vocals don't disappoint and bring new dimension to the songs thats captures just a hint of the live shows. Awesome, awesome CD. Definitely recommended for gift-giving.
